Highbay

An industrial luminaire for spaces with ceilings of roughly 7 metres and above, delivering adequate illuminance to the floor through high lumen output and a narrow beam.

Highbay units are generally used above 7 metres and lowbay units between 4 and 7 metres. The choice should be verified by an illuminance calculation.

Required wattage follows ceiling height, luminaire spacing and the target lux level. 100-150W is common at 8-10 metres, and 200W or more at 12 metres and above.

Narrow beams of 60 degrees or less focus light onto the floor at height, while 90-120 degree beams give more uniform coverage in lower, wider spaces.

Luminaires are aligned parallel to the racking aisles and asymmetric optics are used to deliver vertical illuminance onto the rack faces.
